On June 21, 2025, the streets of Barangay Poblacion in Makati City lit up with color, music, and community as Makati Pride 2025 took over with its official celebration, “Spread the Love, Makati.” The city transformed into a safe and festive space for everyone and echoing its powerful call for continued equality and inclusion.
Set against a visually striking stage designed by renowned Filipino visual artist and activist Leeroy New, the afternoon was packed with exciting pocket activities, engaging conversations, and exciting performances.The event was hosted by country’s transgender icons: Sassa Gurl and Jervi “KaladKaren” Wrightson; who brought their signature humor and heart to the stage.
Congressman Luis Campos opened the festivities with a moving message addressed to the crowd with sincerity and pride:
“To our vibrant and resilient LGBTQ+ community, your courage, love, and authenticity inspire us every day.”
He reminded everyone that Pride isn’t just a party, but a symbol of strength in diversity, and a celebration of the power that comes from embracing who we truly are. He closed his message with a heartfelt declaration:
“Haligi kayo ng ating lungsod.”
Also present were Congresswoman-elect Monique Lagdameo, who emphasized how Pride is a platform that drives real change and empowers people to speak up for equality, love, and inclusion. Congresswoman Geraldine Roman, who delivered a stirring speech of her own, affirming the community’s fight for visibility and rights:
“There’s nothing wrong with loving the people we truly love — and there’s definitely nothing wrong with fighting for equal rights.”

After these powerful and heartfelt words from the guest speakers, the celebration cheered to life with electrifying performances from some of the brightest stars of the LGBTQIA+ community. The O Divas of O Bar brought the house down, followed by the dazzling Divine Divas featuring Brigiding, the Pambansang Misis - Viñas Deluxe, and Precious Paula Nicole, beloved winner of Drag Race Philippines Season 1. The crowd also went wild as Taylor Sheesh, the internet’s very own Taylor Swift tribute sensation, took the stage in full force.

Musical acts from Gigi Vibes, Jason Dhakal, O Bar’s O2Men, and DJ Xtina Superstar rounded out the program with soulful and high-energy performances.
Makati Pride 2025 was more than just a celebration, it was a powerful reminder that Pride isn’t just a one-day event or a month-long moment. It’s a movement. A daily commitment. And through it all, Makati proudly stands with the LGBTQIA+ community — not just in June, but every day of the year.
